How to read the drawings, sources and older entries on Hindi Movie Gossip.
Commentary, not a catalogue
Hindi Movie Gossip writes about how Hindi-film songs were presented in print. Our pages are commentary and interpretation. They are not an authoritative catalogue, a valuation guide or a record of any collection, and we do not hold or sell the items we discuss.
Original drawings
The booklets, sleeves, credits pages and lettering shown on this site are original schematics and studies. They explain how such items are built. They do not show real booklets or records, real film titles or real people, and should not be cited as historical evidence.
Sources and rights
When we refer to a historical item, we name where it is described or held. An item appearing in an archive or online listing does not mean it may be freely reproduced. Any reproduction we show is credited and used only where we have a clear basis to do so. Short quotations are kept to what the discussion needs.
No lyrics or recordings
We do not publish full song words or host audio or video recordings. For the music itself, please use licensed services.
The word “gossip”
In our name, gossip means the public talk that carried songs through stalls, sleeve notes and printed song lists. We do not report rumours or private information about anyone.
Older entries
The Noticeboard contains broader reading from the site’s earlier years. Those entries cover unrelated subjects, were not written to the standard of the songbook pages, and are not endorsements of any product, service or claim. Nothing on this site is professional, financial, medical or legal advice.
